Our Butterflies Hatched!!

It was a very exciting day in Team South today. Four of our butterflies hatched out of their cocoons. We quietly watch one of the butterflies come out. The butterflies then hung from the branches and dried their wings before we carefully carried them outside and set them free.

Look at our faces!!

Swimming Safety

At swimming yesterday, Team South had to wear their PJ's in the pool. We all thought this was very exciting. We discovered that our PJ's made us heavier in the water. We learnt to put our arm straight up in the air with our hand in a fist if we are ever in trouble when we are in the water. We had loads of fun!

Beach Education at Waikuku Beach!

Team South had a wonderful day at Waikuku Beach Education Day yesterday. We learnt all about keeping ourselves safe at the beach. Look at some of the cool things that we did!

Georgia and Angus made great lifeguards. We learnt that you can become a lifeguard when you turn 14.
Our lifeguards saved Emma and Leith from the water.

We built some amazing sandcastles!

What's happening in Team South this week?

What a busy time of year it is! This week Team South have been looking at the 'sh' phoneme during literacy stations time. One of our activities was to build a ship. We then got to test the ship in the school pool. We had so much fun!

Invitations for Grandparents day went out this week and we have been practising our Grandparents Day song. We are getting really good at it now and we even did it without the words! We are so excited about Grandparents day.

We are also busy training for athletics. We will be doing Jelly Put, Long Jump and Sprints on athletics day. Our goal in sprints is to look straight ahead and run in a straight line! We are looking forward to competing against Sefton School on athletics day.

We are missing our buddies this week. They are on camp on the West Coast. We can't wait to catch up with them next week.
